28	QUARRY EXPO

Regrettably, it is not possible to proceed with the Quarry Expo as planned on 21 June 2008, due to the short time frame and low level of acceptance of Council’s invitation to respondents to the recent Expression of Interest process. Council will consider an alternative arrangement to enable the community to view the proposals. A report providing details of the responses received to the Expression of Interest process is available on Council’s website, and the community is invited to read this report and provide feedback to Council.

Council has now arranged for the principal author of the Geotechnical study, Dr Philip Pells, to speak to his firm’s report on the Quarry and associated lands, and to answer questions from the community.

Dr Pells’ address will commence at 2pm on Saturday 21 June 2008, in the Showroom at the Hornsby RSL Club.

RECOMMENDATION

That the advice be noted, and the community invited to attend the presentation.
